Liz Truss' leadership campaign lasted longer than her time as Prime Minister. #GeneralElectionNow

Just watched the trailer for the Mario movie. Chris Pratt previously said that his Mario be "unlike anything you’ve heard in the Mario world before", and he's done that by... *checks notes* just doing his own voice.

It's 2022 and some folks are still designing customer-focused websites desktop-first

So I've been updating/rewriting a workshop that someone else has made recently. It's made me realise how many courses feel the author has written them to show off or push their opinion rather than actually teaching folks what they need to know.

Currently watching this and it reminded me of something I've not said in a while. If you develop websites on a Mac, you should set it so that it always shows scrollbars. If you don't, it can be easy to miss issues where scrollbars may be showing (e.g on Windows) bramus/1569963574407139331

When we ordered a PS5, I also secretly pre-ordered The Last Of Us Part 1 for _QueenOfNaps_. TLOU is her favourite game series. She couldn't play the original because it was inaccessible, but she could play Part 2 because of Naughty_Dog's amazing accessibility features. stevenspohn/1569042328857284609

Not many people know this, but Jack White wrote "My Doorbell" about waiting for an Evri package to be delivered.

Quiet firing isn't a thing, it's just rebranded constructive dismissal. If this happens to you, you may be able to make a claim in an employment tribunal: acas.org.uk/dismissals/constructive-dismissal HuffPost/1567663364314398722

It's not a fucking pissing contest. The war in Ukraine is a tragedy and a disgrace, but brushing the economic state of the UK off as "counting pennies" is disgustingly reductive. Poverty kills. Food poverty kills. Fuel poverty kills. BBCBreaking/1566066961120993281

The most viewed post on my website is still my one about using CSS clip-path to create pixelated rounded corners. That post and the generator I made both seem to get a decent amount of views in a week! Post is here if you're interested! lukeb.co.uk/blog/2022/01/17/pixelated-rounded-corners-with-css-clip-path/

Cool, so does this mean that the salary will be astronomical to compensate for all those hours? What about top notch mental healthcare to account for the inevitable burnout? Or physical healthcare to account for the physical repercussions of burnout? oven_sh/1562248121656102914

I've been extremely poorly for like 3 weeks with glandular fever. I've started to eat proper food again finally and _QueenOfNaps_ made me banana bread, which is my favourite 💜

When I asked Donna out on our first date, she said something along the lines of "just so you know, I use a wheelchair" and I think it was a surprise when I said that wasn't an issue. I didn't pry After our first date, I offered her a lift home. I think that surprised her too _QueenOfNaps_/1560649559746961409

One of the options for dinner in the hospital tonight is cauliflower cheese and tomato, which seems odd to me. Cauliflower cheese = good Cheese and tomato = good Cauliflower cheese and tomato = ??? Has anyone had it before? Is it good?

I've been super sick for a week now, and I just wish it'd go away. _QueenOfNaps_ has done her very best to keep me alive and it's knackered her. I'm currently laid in hospital, and I just want to go home and be with her and the cat. (And maybe a comfy bed)

This also applies to disabled people. Since the start of the pandemic, I've seen too many "left wing" people throw disabled people under the bus because they want to "get on with their lives" or because it's inconvenient. CodeFoodPixels/1548991644837502981

It's astonishing how many people will attack trans rights, but claim that they're left wing. Trans rights are human rights, you cannot claim to be left wing and attack a marginalised group.
