      If you're designing things for customers to use, you should be considering how it works on mobile before you look at desktop.

        If you design desktop-first, you have to then try and make the ideas that work on desktop work on a mobile device. That doesn't always work, you usually have less space to play with and certain interactions and patterns feel hard to use.

          But if you think mobile-first, you're expanding the content into a larger space, which is generally much easier to do. There are still considerations around interactions, but a lot of time, these considerations can also be helpful on a mobile device.

            Think of it as having a box full to the top of stuff, then trying to fit all that stuff in a smaller box. It's hard. But trying to fit the stuff from a small box in a bigger one? Piece of cake.
