**** Approaching tweetstorm with swear words ***
-
1\ bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34715872 - This is fucking ridiculous. Not just the storage aspect, but the whole fucking thing.
-
2\ The fact that when discussing it, May spoke about the "democratic world" is a huge joke. Democracy isn't spying on your citezens.
-
3\ Add the fact that there's a bit for preventing surveillance of Parliamentarians' communications, and it's completely against democracy!
-
4\ Politicians should be treated as citizens, not as an exception to the laws they're creating. Not like they've not been caught before.
-
5\ Also, tracking a domain is still enough to profile someone, even if you're not tracking the actual pages
-
6\ Tracking shouldn't be done of everyone, there's no reason. You're still going to have to filter it down to who you want
-
7\ Bonus of tracking everyone, you now have to pay for all that storage! Plus the tech/staff to keep that very sensitive data secure
-
8\ But I suppose even if they don't keep it secure, nobody will be prosecuted, because they'll pardon themselves!
-
9\ Democracy is supposed to be by the people, for the people. Those in power have forgotten that.
-
10\ They also seem to be ignoring the fact that if someone wants to work around the tracking (by using a foreign VPN for example) it's easy!
-
11\ Criminals and terrorists will still find ways to communicate, away from prying eyes. All this will do is stop the stupid ones
-
12\ With the added effect of suppressing regular citizens.
-
13\ Breaking encryption and backdooring systems is also fucking nuts. Guess what, Gov aren't going to be the only ones using those holes
-
14\ You give someone a door and they'll walk through it. Criminals will have a much easier time stealing bank details and scraping data
-
15\ Hell this would probably end up helping any terrorists, as now they can get data on their targets WAY easier!
-
16\ This is a great way to drive businesses out of the UK, good job David_Cameron!
-
Ok, I think I'm done. Back to your regularly scheduled programme.
