cassiecodes In my experience, it completely depends on the presenter. Most folks I've seen do live coding haven't done it well because of things like: - Not talking while they're writing the code - Taking a long time writing a chunk of code for a small payoff - Tripping over small errors

cassiecodes I don't think I'd ever live code as part of a talk, I'd rather simulate it with screen recordings or a series of demos at various stages.

cassiecodes The folks I've seen do it well, have been able to keep their demos concise, know exactly what they're typing (either with notes or snippets) and have been able to explain what they're doing as they're doing it. It's a lot to process when you're presenting.
