Stuff like this will stop some people even applying to your conference. Just count it as an expense in your budget and say yes instead of "Well, maybe..." Speakers provide content for your conference, cover their costs.Permalink On twitter.com

Although I can afford to pay for some travel out of my own pocket, I won't apply to conferences that don't cover costs or give a "maybe" like this. You're charging people for entry and are taking sponsorship money, speakers shouldn't have to pay to provide content for you.On twitter.com
