      jesslynnrose I never took a break, but I shifted around from PHP to VB6, then back to PHP and then JS. I've forgotten all the VB6 I knew and a lot of the PHP.

    jesslynnrose I initially learned HTML and a tiny amount of JS back in 2001ish and was making websites. Started teaching myself PHP by downloading an open source blog system and modified it to do what I wanted. This was followed by doing the same to PHPBB and then writing my own CMS

      jesslynnrose I learned a load of JS by making userscripts for the Bungie forums before starting to write a big userscript project for an online game I played. I also wrote a backend for the game userscript to store data scraped from the game and make it searchable.

        jesslynnrose Nowadays I tend to learn as I work, whether that's at my job or on a personal project.
