Had an email from a conference inviting me to submit a talk, so I checked their site to see the process for applying. Two red flags that jumped out immediately: 1) There's an interview as part of the process. 2) The selection committee is just a group of 7 white men.On twitter.com

I only have 3 requirements for applying to a conference: 1) Fair and documented selection process 2) A good code of conduct 3) Pay for speakers accommodation and travel These aren't exactly high bars to meet, but I've seen too many conferences that don't.Permalink On twitter.com
