I've just made the last payment I'm going to make to Meetup. They charge $90 for 6 months. I've been paying this myself ever since I took LeedsJS over. Charging community run groups this amount of money is bizarre to me, and I'm not going to pay it anymore.On twitter.com

Over the next 6 months, I'm going to move LeedsJS off of Meetup and on to our own site (that real_ate has rebuilt for us), using a ticketing platform (probably useTito) and then using a newsletter system to send out any event notifications or communications.Permalink On twitter.com
