I think Microsoft buying GitHub is a good thing. One way or another GitHub's VCs were going to push for an exit and Microsoft under Nadella has shown it's commitment to open source projects and open source communities.Permalink On twitter.com

To bring up Microsoft's actions under Ballmer and Gates as an instance of how they're going to mess up GitHub means that you're discounting all of the hard work that people have put in to change the track that Microsoft is on. A difficult task with a company that size.Permalink On twitter.com
